I always think it is really neat when a sale is made and there is a greater purpose behind the sale. No matter what business you are in I feel there is a connection between buyer and seller in most cases. Today I am writing about a few of my past domain name sales where the new owners have taken the domain to another level. The new owners have developed full blown websites and businesses with the names. These new domain owners have a new storefront and today I will share a few with you.

The first one that comes to mind is a .co domain I sold Wim.co. Wim.co was just simply a parked webpage for me. I was approached by them and after several months of back and forth talk, a price was reached. The new owner has made a beautiful site called Women Innovative Mobile. Hence the WIM. They are the first startup accelerator program focused on exclusively launching the growth of female-founded companies in mobile technology. They can be reached at info@wim.co for more information. You can also follow their tweets on Twitter here. They also have a Facebook account and other social medias. Their Facebook is here.

The second domain name sale that has been turned into a nice website business is Encouragemint.com. At encouragemint.com they offer free emotional support and information. They offer emotional support and encouragement in their online forums, as well as practical help for tasks that can be handled remotely. They also just launched “Encouragement Projects” that are community based direct impact efforts where they highlight a particular cause at a local level and come together as a community to make an impact. They also have educational information about various emotional and mental health issues as well as resources for hotlines for help and referral services.

The third domain name sale that has been turned into a nice business website is SantaClara.biz. This domain was purchased by the SantaClara.com owner and looks as if the .biz I sold him is being forwarded to their main website. This is the official online guide for the Santa Clara California area. This website goes into detail about where to eat, sleep, nightlife, real estate, events, shopping and much much more.

The next one is IMO my favorite one because it is a domain that I just made up. Neckid.com. I thought that it would be a cool name for a clothing line. The buyer of this domain instead is using it for a type of purse. His purses are called Neckid. Neckid has been in the news in the D.C. area on Fox News. Our Little Secret by Bryan Cole. Neckid has discreet handbags for women where they can hide their money, cards and other important items. The Neckid brand from Kickstarter has a Facebook page with almost 600,000 likes. Yes, I said 600k. Check it out here!

There have been a few more success stories but these stick out. If you have any similar stories to tell feel free to comment below. I would like to see them. It’s always fun to see what people can come up with from a blank domain name. I wish these companies continued success.
